On Tuesday 19 October 2010 JISC held an exciting one-day conference on the Future of Research. It offered a range of ‘here and now’ advice and guidance centred on the strategic role of technologies as well as providing an opportunity to discuss and listen to issues within the sector.

The conference examined three major challenges facing education institutions involved in research today:

  • institutional reputation
  • efficiency and effectiveness
  • collaboration in a competitive environment

Watch video of all the plenary and selected workshop sessions, and catch up with the tagged Twitter stream (conference tag #jiscres10). Or see an aggregation of different resources as a fun Storify page.

You can find additional resources and materials here on the microsite, organised by theme (reputation, efficiency, and collaboration) and designed specifically for the differing needs of senior managers and researchers. Go to the Conference page to find links to accounts of all the conference sessions along with speaker presentations.

This site will continue to be updated after the conference with information, multimedia, news and debate about the future of research.
